Field Maintenance Log 2020

The field maintenance log is back for 2020!

8/4/2020

Covid and some old man knees has put a damper on some of the larger field maintenance projects. Now we have abetter idea of what’s coming down the line on many fronts, expect this to be updated a bit more frequently.

  • Low Side Village
    • Added 12-15 bunkers
  • Western Town
    • Remade large bunker on the woods/church boundary line
  • Big Woods/Village boundary
    • Added 8 new bunkers along that boundary line on the Big Woods side
  • The LZ
    • Modified the Helicopter
    • Bridge saw a revamp on the barrel bunkers
    • Upgraded multiple bunkers across the entire field

5-20-2020

  • Water Station
  • Fixed all nets
  • Urban Town
    • Added 8-10 new buildings
    • Modified and renovated another dozen
  • Pirate Cove
    • Attacking back right corner has been renovated
      • Buildings were torn down by wind.  A new structure has replaced it.
  • Hamburger Hill
    • Replaced 90% of the sandbags
    • Reconfigured pill box bunkers
    • Added 7 new brush bunkers on the main hill
    • Replaced the start bridge with a new one
    • Put two new bunkers down by the attackers start point
    • Cleaning up lots of brush and swag in the gully
  • Star Wars
    • Head of AT-AT has been fixed and replaced
  • Big Woods
    • Cleaned up rotting and dangerous trees
  • Castle
    • Cleaned up rotting and dangerous trees

Since there wasn’t one last season, here’s a brief run down of what was accomplished last year:

2019 Field Maintenance Summary

  • Thinned out tree line between Urban and Big woods
    • Built 30 new bunkers through that section
  • Star Wars – 50 new bunkers on Star Wars
    • Rebuilt
      •  X-wing fighter
      • Generator
      • AT-S
      • Tie Wing Fighter wings rebuilt
  • Turned Fire Base Kilo in First Contact and Area 51
  • Castle – High side of physical castle – new 8 foot walk way on 2nd story
  • More bunkers on high side of the castle
    • 20 new bunkers
  • Urban Town
    • Full commercial drainage installed
    • Vans were replaced and moved
  • Deadzone upgrades
    • 20 foot nets added around the entire deadzone

The final weekend of the 2024 season has come and gone. Normally, we shut the field down and go into hibernation until March. This year, things will be a bit different. We are taking a few weeks off to spend the holidays with family and friends, and will reopen on January 4th, 2025.
